High School SAT Success

Herron High School and Herron-Riverside High School offer students a rigorous college preparatory education in a supportive and nurturing environment. We are consistently rated A schools by the State, and Herron High School earned a National Blue Ribbon award from the US Department of Education in 2020. The academic achievements are evidenced by several criteria, and State SAT scores are among the most recent. While academics are important, it is our philosophy of building relationships based on trust and respect that allow our students to thrive. Our classical, liberal arts and sciences model allows all students to become meaningful contributors to every classroom.

Why Latin?

The four-year Latin sequence at Herron High School serves as an intensive course in logic and logical processes, thereby creating a graduate who is much stronger in critical thinking and the ability for tackling more complex questions posed in a college classroom.

Education in the Time of Coronavirus

Times are changing rapidly. By the time we refresh our browsers, there will no doubt be updates and new mandates regarding COVID-19. At Herron and Riverside High Schools, we understand that these rapid changes, and the sudden school closures, have brought on some fear and anxiety. This is one reason we acted quickly and organized e-learning for our students. We know that our students will benefit from structure and continued learning throughout this uncertain time.
